Fighting Comet Basketball Team Falls to Ferris State, 109-85
The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to NCAA Division II foe Ferris State University, 109-85, today in a non-conference game at the Upton Center. The Fighting Comets' overall record slips to 6-4 and the Bulldogs now have a 3-2 overall mark.
OLIVET, MI. -- The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to NCAA Division II foe Ferris State University, 109-85, today in a non-conference game at the Upton Center. The Fighting Comets' overall record slips to 6-4 and the Bulldogs now have a 3-2 overall mark.
In the first half, Ferris State made a three-pointer to start the game and never trailed again in the game. Olivet battled back to cut the Ferris lead to five points on two occasions, but were still behind 53-46 at halftime. In the second half, Olivet was unable to contain the Bulldogs as they led by as many as 30 points.
Senior forward Michael Dyson (Kalamazoo/Loy Norrix High School) paced Olivet with 17 points, including 11-of-12 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Will Lee (Lansing Everett High School) added 11 points off the bench.
Willie Thomas scored a game-high 24 points to lead Ferris. Carlton Epps grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Olivet will next play on Monday, Dec. 16 when it hosts Orchard Lake St. Mary's in a non-league game at 7:30 p.m.
