Men's basketball team loses to Kalamazoo, 62-59, in consolation game of Little Giant Tip-Off Tournament
The Olivet College men's basketball team fell to Kalamazoo College, 62-59, today in the consolation game of the Little Giant Tip-Off Tournament at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Junior Ronnie Pearson (Holly High School) and sophomore De'Andre Pruitt (River Rouge High School) were named to the all-tournament team.

The Hornets jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. The Fighting Comets battled back and cut the deficit to one point at 21-20 with 7:41 left in the first half when sophomore center Derek Cox (Niles High School) made a layup. Kalamazoo responded and took a 33-29 lead at halftime.
Olivet opened the second half with a 7-0 run to take its first lead of the game. The last lead that the Comets held was a 40-39 advantage with 13:12 left in the game. The Hornets stretched their lead to as many as 11 points at the 3:26 mark.
Pearson paced Olivet with 15 points. Pruitt chipped in with 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
The Comets are next in action on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 29-30, when they participate in the Hanover (Ind.) College Thanksgiving Tournament. Olivet will first play Hanover on Saturday evening at 6 p.m.
