BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball team lost 82-46 to NCAA Division II foe Ferris State University tonight at the Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids.
The Bulldogs built a 22-point lead in the first half and never looked back. The Comets managed to get as close as 18 points in the early stages of the second half. Ferris's biggest lead was 40 points with 3:48 left in the game.
Senior captain Jaren Edsall (Whitehall) scored a team-high 16 points for Olivet. Junior Matt El (Allegan) joined him in double figures with 12 points. Off the bench, freshman Blake Krumm (Schoolcraft) grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
For the Bulldogs, Kenny Brown led all players with 24 points, including six three-pointers. Jerrell Sanders scored 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Brandyn Mungo and Daniel Sutherlin contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Olivet (0-4) will host Anderson (Ind.) University Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
