Olivet College’s Krum named MIAA Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week
Olivet College junior Blake Krum (Schoolcraft) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. He is sharing the honor with Alex Eidson from Hope College.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Blake Krum (Schoolcraft) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. He is sharing the honor with Alex Eidson from Hope College.
Krum averaged 24.5 points, seven rebounds and four assists, as the Comets won two MIAA road victories last week. He scored 26 points and pulled down six rebounds in an 82-79 victory Feb. 5 at Kalamazoo. He followed that performance with 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists in an 87-80 win Feb. 8 at Alma. Krum made 15-of-29 baskets (51.7 percent) and 17-of-20 (85.0 percent) free throws for the week. The points also allowed him to take over the MIAA scoring race at 20.0 points per game (ppg).
For the season, Krum leads the team in scoring at 17.3 ppg and is second in rebounding at 4.3 per game. He has made 35 three-pointers, while dishing out 34 assists and making 31 steals.
Krum and the Comets are back in action Wednesday night when they host Hope. Tip-off from The Cutler Event Center is 8 p.m.
