Ernst named BCAM Men’s College Coach of the Year

Olivet College head men’s basketball coach Steve Ernst has been named the 2017-18 Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Men’s College Coach of the Year.

OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College head men's basketball coach Steve Ernst has been named the 2017-18 Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Men's College Coach of the Year.

Ernst led the Comets to a 16-11 overall record and a share of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) regular season title with a 10-4 mark. The title was the first for Olivet since 1973, a span of 45 years. In addition, the Comets earned the No. 1 seed and hosted the 2018 MIAA Tournament, advancing to the tournament championship game for the first time in school history.
