Olivet College’s Ali chosen MIAA Athlete of the Week for men’s basketball
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Olivet College senior Tevin Ali has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athlete of the Week for men’s basketball.
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Olivet College senior Tevin Ali has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athlete of the Week for men's basketball.
Ali averaged a double-double, 18.5 points and 14.5 rebounds, for the Comets last week at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. He had four points and six rebounds in their first game against Coe (Iowa) College. Ali followed that performance with 32 points and 23 rebounds in an 83-80 overtime win against Wittenberg (Ohio) University. For the two games, he made 13-of-27 baskets (48.1 percent) and 9-of-14 free throws (64.3 percent).
"We are all proud of how hard Tevin played in the two games last week," said Olivet head coach Sam Hargraves. "We hope that becomes a habit for him."
Ali and the Comets (4-7) host Adrian College tomorrow night to open MIAA play. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
