Okello named MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet sophomore Mike Okello has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athlete of the Week for men's basketball.

Okello made 8-of-10 baskets to score 16 points in the Comets' 85-81 loss at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.). In addition, he had six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 29 minutes of playing time.

UOlivet is back in action tomorrow for an exhibition game at University of Findlay (Ohio), starting at 7 p.m. Then on Friday and Saturday, the Comets participate in the 2026 Glenn Van Wieren Classic, hosted by Hope College. UOlivet plays Muskingum University (Ohio) on Friday at 5 p.m., and Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) on Saturday at 12 p.m.
