Richardson named MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet junior Nathan Richardson has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Kretschman averaged 23.5 points in helping the Comets win two road games last week. He started the week with a 29-point performance in a 76-69 win on Wednesday against Calvin University. Richardson followed that with a 19-point game in an 82-75 win against Kalamazoo. For the week, he made 16-of-25 baskets (64 percent), including 6-of-10 (60 percent) from the three-point arc, and 9-of-13 (69.2 percent) from the charity stripe. Richardson also recorded eight assists and three steals, while making only five turnovers in 75 minutes.
Olivet continues to sit in a tie with Hope College for first place in the MIAA standings. The Comets host Alma College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., and travel to play Albion College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
