UOlivet celebrates Senior Day with 89-73 win over Adrian

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's basketball team posted an 89-73 win over Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest tonight at the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Seniors Damani Hicks and Logan Walton started the game for the Comets. They scored the first five Olivet points – a deep three-pointer by Hicks and a jump shot by Walton. The Comets took their first lead of the game, 8-7, after sophomore Porter Kretschman drained a free throw to complete a three-point play. The Bulldogs answered with two free throws to regain the lead.
- The teams traded 5-0 runs to keep Adrian ahead by one point, 14-13, at the 14:08 mark. Olivet scored the next seven points and did not trail for the rest of the half, leading by as many as 15 points. The Comets settled for a 12-point cushion, 44-32, at halftime.
- The Bulldogs began the second half by scoring the first eight points to trim their deficit down to four points at the 17:27 mark. Olivet quickly pushed its advantage back to double digits, where it would stay for the rest of the game. The Comets' largest lead of the game was 27 points, 81-54, with 5:31 remaining in the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- For the game, Olivet shot an identical 18-of-31 in both halves for a 58.1 field goal percentage.
- Kretschman finished the game with a double-double, recording a game-high 23 points and 18 rebounds.
- Junior Nathan Richardson contributed 14 points.
- Sophomore Mike Okello came off the bench to score 13 points.
- Walton tallied 10 points.
- Hicks dished out five assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Before the game, Olivet recognized its three seniors – Hicks, Walton and Tucker Blemaster.
- With the win, the Comets have now won the second-most MIAA games in one season in school history. The 1971-72 team won 12 MIAA contests.

- The Comets conclude the regular season portion of their schedule on Saturday. They are on the road to play Trine University (Ind.) at 3 p.m.
