Men's golf team is second at MIAA Jamboree #7
The Olivet College men’s golf team was second today at the seventh Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
The Olivet College men's golf team was second today at the seventh Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
The Fighting Comets tallied a team score of 317 strokes to finish behind Hope College, who had a 314. Tri-State (Ind.) University was third with a 321. Entering Saturday's final MIAA jamboree, the race for the MIAA championship remains tight. Tri-State leads the standings with a 301.14 stroke average, followed by Hope with a 301.43 average. Olivet is third with a 303.86 average.
Individually, juniors Steve Ross (Rockford) and Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) tied for second with a 77. Senior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) was next for the Comets with an 80. Freshman Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) had an 83 and senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) recorded an 84.
Saturday's jamboree will be at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian.
