Men’s golf team is runner-up at MIAA Jamboree #1
The Olivet College men’s golf team was the runner-up at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #1, which was played on the Comets’ home course, the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. In today’s round, junior Nick Harless (DeWitt) was the individual medalist with a 71.

In today's round, junior Nick Harless (DeWitt) was the individual medalist with a 71.
The Comets totaled 300 strokes in today's round. Adrian College took first-place at 299. The rest of the team scores were Hope, 305; Calvin, 307; Trine, 308; Albion, 320; Alma, 323; and Kalamazoo, 328.
Following Harless was junior Cameron LaFountain (Marshall) at 74. Senior Luke Godin (Barrie, Ontario/Innisdale Secondary) shot a 77, followed by sophomore Grant Spencer (Olivet) with a 78. Freshman Tyler Parkin (Alanson/Harbor Springs) rounded out the Olivet lineup with an 80.
The second MIAA jamboree will take place Saturday at Alma's home course, Pine River Country Club. The shotgun start is scheduled for noon. The MIAA champion and automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championships will be determined from the lowest cumulative score after the eight jamborees.
