Men’s golf team is sixth at MIAA Jamboree #4
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed sixth at the MIAA Jamboree #4 this afternoon at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo. The Comets carded a 305 team score but were only a stroke behind a three-way tie for third-place between Albion, Calvin and Trine.
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed sixth at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #4 this afternoon at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo. The Comets carded a 305 team score but were only a stroke behind a three-way tie for third-place between Albion, Calvin and Trine.
Adrian captured the team championship with a 292. Hope was second at 300. Behind Olivet was Kalamazoo in seventh at 314 and Alma in eighth at 315. Adrian's Mac Boucher and Karter Clark shared medalist honors with one-under pars 71.
Sophomore Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) finished in a tie for third-place with a one-over 73. Junior Justin Ardelean (Owosso) was next with a 76. Freshman Kory Roberts (Battle Creek/Lakeview) and senior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) both shot a 78. In the varsity lineup for the first time this season, freshman John Martenson (Trenton) carded an 89.
At the midway point of the league schedule, Adrian has a 10-stroke lead over Hope in the seasonal standings, 1,224-1,234. Five strokes only separate the next three teams. Alma is third at 1,243, followed by Trine at 1,247 and the Comets at 1,248.
The next jamboree will be Saturday at Trine's Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana. Action gets started at 1:30 p.m.
