Men’s golf team finishes in 14th-place at OWU Strimer Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in 14th-place at the two-day Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Memorial Invitational, which was played at the Oakhaven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio.
DELAWARE, Ohio – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in 14th-place at the two-day Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Memorial Invitational, which was played at the Oakhaven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio.
The Comets dropped 13 strokes off their first-round total to have a 327 today, which gave them a two-round score of 667 strokes. Wittenberg (Ohio) University led the 15-team field with a 578 (293-285).
Sophomore Benjamin Hart (Rockford/Lowell) posted Olivet's top two-round score with a 162 (83-79). Senior Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) was next at 165 (83-82).
Freshmen Joseph Gauck (Belding/Lowell) and Matt Sherry (Salem Twp./South Lyon) had identical 170s with 89-81 and 85-85, respectively. Freshman Jacob VanDeusen (Clinton Twp./Clintondale) needed 201 (107-94) strokes to complete his two rounds.
The Comets will make the trip down I-69 Wednesday afternoon to compete in the one-day Trine (Ind.) University A.C. Eddy Invitational at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
