UOlivet finishes ninth at Lou Collins Memorial Tournament

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's golf team hosted the Lou Collins Memorial Tournament at the Bedford Valley Country Club and placed ninth of 10 schools.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets totaled 658 strokes over the two rounds.
- Kalamazoo College won the team title by three strokes over Albion College, 621 to 624. Adrian College was a stroke behind at 625, followed by Rochester Christian University at 628.
- Daniel Runkel from Rochester Christian posted back-to-back 75s to earn medalist honors with a 150.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Mitchell Bair-Pollard: tied for 15th, 158 (82-76). The 76 is a career-best 18-hole score.
- Junior Noah LaValley: tied for 37th, 165 (82-83)
- Junior Brady Applegate: 40th, 167 (83-84)
- Sophomore Bradon Ellis: 41st, 168 (83-85)
- Junior Zachary Lull: tied for 45th, 172 (83-89)
- Sophomore Luke Hurlburt paced Olivet's "B" team, tying for 32nd-place with a 164 (85-79).
- Sophomore Connor Bergeon also had a 79 in the second round for the "B" team.
UP NEXT
- The Comets are idle until Tuesday, September 9, when they participate in the Lourdes (Ohio) University Fall Invitational. The one-day, 18-hole outing is at the Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake and starts at 10 a.m.
