The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 3-1, this afternoon in Olivet.
The Titans struck first with a goal in the 10th minute. Three minutes later, the Comets tied the game when freshman Kevin Hagan (East Lansing) found the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. Wisc.-Oshkosh took a 2-1 lead on a header with 25 seconds left before halftime. The Titans added an insurance goal in the 78th minute.
Olivet collected nine shots in the game, including three by sophomore Alan Holdorf (Novi). Six others tallied a shot apiece. In goal, senior Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids) played the entire game. He faced eight shots in each half and made seven saves.
The Comets will next be in action Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10, when they travel to Delaware, Ohio, to participate in the Ohio Wesleyan University adidas® Invitational. On Friday, Olivet will play Ohio Dominican University at 5 p.m., and on Saturday, the Comets will play the host Battling Bishops at 7:30 p.m.
