FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Vince Geremia has earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors for men's soccer. All-league honors are based on a player's statistics during the 14-game conference schedule.
Geremia started all 14 games for the Comets at the center-back position. He also played up top at the forward position late in the game when Olivet needed a goal to either win or tie the game. Geremia's long throw in was another asset to the team, using it to start attacks on the offensive end of the field. His only point of the season was a throw in for an assist on a goal against Hope College.
"Vince was a four-year starter and two-year captain for Olivet," said head coach Dan Montanye. "He is a dominant player in the air and anchors the team's defense. He also did a great job on long throws for the team, getting forward on offensive corner kicks, and even did a solid job at the forward position when we were looking for a goal late in the game. Overall, his importance to the team was seen all over the field."
