ALBION, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's soccer team lost 2-0 to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College today at Alumni Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Neither team was able to put in the back of the net during the first half.
  • The Britons scored their first goal in the 59th minute when Esteban Mercardo made a kick from the penalty spot. Albion capped its scoring in the 70th minute on a goal by Xavier Yuille.

FOR THE COMETS

  • Olivet finished the game with just five shots, and only one was on-target by senior William Myrick.
  • Junior Nicholas Van Port Fleet collected four saves, while facing 14 shots in goal.
