Men's swimming/diving finishes in fifth-place at 2004 MIAA Championships
The Olivet College men’s swimming and diving team finished in fifth-place at the 2004 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships held at the East Grand Rapids High School Pool. The Fighting Comets recorded 242 points and broke the school record in every event contested today.

Leading the way for Olivet was Brad Waddell (Holland/West Ottawa High School). He was sixth in the 1650 freestyle (17:02.57) and was a part of the fourth-place 400 free relay (3:17.55). Juan Aguirre (Queretaro, Mexico), Ananta Fetters (Fennville/Holland High School) and Levi Yockey (Phoenix, Ariz./North High School) joined him on the relay.
Fetters was seventh in the 200 butterfly (2:04.47). In the 100 free, Aguirre finished in eighth-place (48.22), followed by Yockey (48.64). Andy Weiss (Fremont High School) placed fifth in the one-meter dive (379.65 points), and Steve Dastoli (Kalamazoo Central High School) finished in ninth (312.05).
In the 200 breaststroke, Olivet swept the eighth-12th place finishes. Ben Guins (Lansing Eastern High School) was eighth (2:14.51). Jon Cox (Battle Creek Lakeview High School), Andy Lapham (South Lyon High School), Nick Borowicz (Lennon/Corunna High School) and Darren Hamman (Boksburg, South Africa) were ninth-12th, respectively. Guins also clocked in with an eighth-place finish in the 1650 free (17:32.85), and Lapham was 11th in the same event (18:25.99).
