Olivet College’s Mendham named MIAA Track Athlete of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Olivet College senior Chase Mendham has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Track Athlete of the Week.
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Olivet College senior Chase Mendham has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Track Athlete of the Week.
At the Albion College Triangular, Mendham took first in the 800-meter run and mile run to help Olivet finish second in the team standings. His times were personal bests – 2:00.38 for the 800 and 4:27.25 for the mile. Mendham also ran on the second-place 4x400-meter relay (3:27.91).
"Chase had an outstanding meet on Friday," said head coach Karen Lutzke. "He competed hard and maintained his composure in all three of his races. Chase has made significant improvements in his training and racing in the last year and it showed in the way he raced."
Mendham and the Comets are back in action Friday at the Siena Heights University / Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational. Field events get under way at 11 a.m., followed by running events at 2:30 p.m.
