Chandler chosen MIAA Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The University of Olivet sophomore DeVondre Chandler has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

At the Hillsdale College Wide Track Classic, Chandler was first of 14 competitors in the high jump. He cleared the bar at a winning and UOlivet indoor record mark of 6 feet, 9-1/2 inches (2.07 meters). The performance is tied for fifth on the NCAA Division III performance list.

"DeVondre continues to learn and improve every day in the high jump," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutkze. "His outstanding performance on Saturday results from the work he put in over the last year working with Coach (Darroll) Gatson and Coach (Joey) LeMere.  DeVondre has big goals for the 2025 season and beyond and we look forward to watching him chase them!"

The Comets are back in action Friday and Saturday at the Saginaw Valley State University Jet's Pizza Invitational.
