Fremeau selected as MIAA Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet sophomore Owen Fremeau has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. He is earning this honor for a second time this season.
Fremeau was second and broke the UOlivet indoor record in the shot put at the Hillsdale College Tune-Up. His mark, 53 feet and 10-1/2 inches, was achieved on his last attempt. In addition, Fremeau also finished second in the weight throw (59 feet and 5 inches).
"Owen has been consistent in his throws the past few weeks and it paid off with his new PR and school record in the shot put on Friday," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "He had some big throws in the first meet of the season and is now surpassing those marks. We are excited to see what Owen can do for the rest of the season."
The Comets participate in the 2025 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Trine (Ind.) University is the host school.
