UOlivet competes at Sean Brady Alumni Invitational

ANGOLA, Ind. – The University of Olivet indoor track and field teams competed at the Trine University (Ind.) / Sean Brady Alumni Invitational for their second meet of the year.
For the men, junior Owen Fremeau won the weight throw (56 feet, 5-3/4 inches) and shot put (51 feet, 4-1/4 inches). Both of his winning marks were achieved on his last attempt.
In the 1,000-meter run, juniors Joe Kadluboski and Sam Bruinsma set all-time UOlivet Top 10 marks. Kadluboski placed second and ran 2:52.92 for fifth all-time and Bruinsma was third and went 3:08.86 for ninth all-time.
Sophomore Alexander Brown won the pole vault (14 feet, 1-1/4 inches). Freshman Aiden Coggins finished third in the long jump (20 feet, 1 inch) and tied for fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.23 seconds). Sophomore Tye Kirschner was third in the high jump (6 feet).
For the women, sophomore Lily Russell finished third in the women's weight throw with a throw of 41 feet, 4-1/2 inches to move up to No. 8 on the all-time UOlivet list. Freshman Danah Pearson ran a time of 8.41 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries to tie for fourth on the UOlivet all-time Top 10 list. Junior Aubrey Connelly finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (31.43). Sophomore Aurali Garcia placed fourth in the high jump (4 feet, 9 inches).
Olivet is back in action next Friday, January 23, when it participates in the Hillsdale College Wide Track Classic. Field events start at 10 a.m., followed by running events at 12 p.m.
