Fremeau tabbed MIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet junior Owen Fremeau has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. He is earning this honor for a fifth time this season.
At the 2026 MIAA Championships, Fremeau won the shot put (59 feet, 1/4 inch) and weight throw (63 feet). His performance in both events were MIAA Championship records and the mark in the shot put was a UOlivet indoor record.
"I am proud of Owen for the hard work he put in order to win the shot put and weight throw," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "He had two outstanding performances, and we look forward to what he can accomplish the rest of the season."
Fremeau will compete at a last chance meet this weekend. He has likely punched his ticket to the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championships March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
