UOlivet opens outdoor season at Albion Triangular

ALBION, Mich. – The University of Olivet track and field teams competed in their first meet of the 2025-26 outdoor season at the Albion College Triangular.
For the men, junior Owen Fremeau won the hammer throw with a UOlivet record throw of 197 feet, 6 inches. The performance is No. 2 on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Performance List. He also took first in the shot put (55 feet, 11-3/4 inches) and discus throw (143 feet, 5 inches). Sophomore Yrral Campbell finished second in the shot put (42 feet, 3 1/2 inches) and discus throw (138 feet, 9 inches).
Sophomore Tye Kirschner was first in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best time at 57.47 seconds, which is also eighth-best in UOlivet history. Junior Luke Leighton finished second (57.49). Junior Deegan Bodell placed first in the 5,000-meter run (17:04.74) and third in the 1,500-meter run (4:24.42). Also, in the 5K, freshman Owen Lambarth was second (17:13.77).
Olivet also went 1-2 in the 2,000-meter steeplechase, with sophomore Luke Senters winning it at 6:45.48, followed by junior Brenden Castillo in 6:46.51.
For the women, junior Aubrey Connelly ran the ninth-fastest in UOlivet history in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:14.96 Junior Ellie Baynes posted a personal-best time in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.02 seconds. Freshman Landry Gomez was first in the 2,000-meter steeplechase (8:18.50).
Sophomore Lily Russell was first in the hammer throw with the third-best mark in UOlivet history at 141 feet, 11 inches. Freshman Peyton Tennant finished first in the shot put (34 feet, 4 inches) and second in the javelin (94 feet, 2 inches). The mark in the shot put ranks No. 8 all-time at UOlivet.
Sophomore Kenzie Gray placed second in the hammer throw (117 feet, 8 inches) and third in the discus (104 feet, 10 inches). Both were personal best marks. She also recorded the ninth-best mark in UOlivet history in the shot put (33 feet, 11-1/2 inches).
The Comets head to The College of Wooster (Ohio) next Friday and Saturday, April 3-4, for the Wooster Invitational.
