UOlivet Sets Multiple Top 10 Marks and Personal Bests at Wooster Track & Field Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio - The University of Olivet men's and women's outdoor track & field teams headed to the College of Wooster for the Wooster Invitational, which took place on Friday-Saturday, April 3-4.
For the men, junior Owen Fremeau finished second in the shot put with a new UOlivet outdoor record at 58 feet, 10-3/4 inches. This performance also places him at No. 1 on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Performance List.
Sophomore Yrral Campbell threw personal bests in the shot put (44 feet, 8 inches) and in the discus throw (149 feet). Freshman Dom Monroe set personal bests in the shot put (34 feet, 2-3/4 inches) and the hammer throw (114 feet, 3 inches). Freshmen Drew Wojciechowski and Eli Cottrell each achieved personal bests in the discus throw at 130 feet, 10 inches, and 114 feet, 3 inches, respectively. Sophomore Mason Korn tossed a personal best in the javelin (138 feet, 1 inch).
Junior Deegan Bodell and senior Ben Gillesby each posted personal bests in the 1500-meter run with times of 4:21.79 and 5:08.30, respectively. Freshman Emori Jones ran a personal best in the 800-meter run (2:07.44). Senior Dontal Wright clocked-in with a personal best in the 100-meter dash (11.51).
The 4x400 meter relay team of Wright, sophomore Tye Kirschner, senior Peter Moore and junior Joe Kadluboski finished third (3:31.59).
For the women, freshman Landry Gomez completed two races in an all-time UOlivet top 10 times. She won her heat of the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:15.89, which is the sixth-fastest and ran the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.31, which is eighth-fastest.
Junior Aubrey Connelly also posted two all-time Top 10 performances. She ran the fifth-fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles (1:12.06) and threw the javelin with the eighth-best mark (98 feet, 6 inches).
Sophomore Brooke Jankwietz moved up to No. 8 in the UOlivet record book in the discus throw (115 feet, 6 inches).
Freshmen Avery Lopez and Cassie Bill both ran personal bests in the 1500-meter run with times of 6:00.57 and 6:11.80, respectively.
Freshman Peyton Tennant and junior Ellie Baynes each threw personal bests in the shot put (36 feet, 6 1/4 inches) and (27 feet, 8 inches). Tennant also set a personal best in the high jump (4 feet, 9 inches).
Freshman Allison Stauffer set personal bests in the shot put (23 feet, 6 1/4 inches) and the discus (71 feet, 10 inches). Freshman Zoe Watson threw a personal best in the hammer throw (91 feet, 6 inches).
Freshman Bethany Stowell ran personal bests in the 100-meter dash (15.37) and the 200-meter dash (33.63).
The Comets will compete at the Calvin University Knight Invite on Saturday, April 18.
