Ten Olivet College softball players earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors
Ten Olivet College softball players have been earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2013-14 academic year.
OLIVET, Mich. – Ten Olivet College softball players have been earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2013-14 academic year. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the entire academic year to qualify for the award.
The honorees are Maddie Carr (Milford), Kaelin Cross (Laingsburg), Shannon Huntley (Clio), Lauren Lenard (Dimondale/Lansing Catholic), Devon Mayse (Adrian/Madison), Ashley Mliheim (Eaton Rapids), Kaitlyn Pirochta (Laingsburg/Perry), Molly Renfroe (Homer), Maddy Siebenmark (Bridgman) and Christine Wood (East Lansing/Haslett). Lenard earned the honor for a fourth straight year, Siebenmark for a second consecutive year and the remaining eight for the first time.
Eight of the 10 honorees will help the Comets open the 2015 season in early March at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
