Women’s basketball team topped by Alma, 71-37

ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team suffered a 71-37 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College this afternoon at Art Smith Arena.

• The Comets scored the first four points of the game and again led by four points, 6-2. From there, the Scots closed the opening quarter on a 15-3 run to hold a 17-9 lead. Alma put the first two points on the scoreboard in the second quarter. The Scots' advantage stayed at 10 or more points for the rest of the game.

• Senior Alicia Bullaro scored a team-leading nine points on 4-of-7 shooting.
• Freshman Courtney Balazs came off the bench to score eight points.
• Junior Julia Decker and sophomore Zoee Zatarga grabbed seven rebounds apiece.

• Maddie Robbins and Reagan Thorr each scored 10 points.
• Kerri Miller and Taylor Sas each pulled down six rebounds.

• The Comets travel to play No. 1-ranked Hope College for a rescheduled doubleheader next Monday, January 17, at 7 p.m.
