Women’s basketball team stumbles at No. 1 Hope, 96-31

- Just three seconds into the game, Hope scored the first basket and never looked back. The Comets scored their only basket of the quarter to trail by a 22-2 score. Hope led 52-10 at halftime and 73-25 at the end of the third quarter.
- Junior Julia Decker scored 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
- Freshman Courtney Balazs made both her field goal attempts and all four of her free throw attempts for eight points.
- Sophomore Zoee Zatarga grabbed a team-best five rebounds.
- Fifteen players saw action for Hope, with the five starters playing 14 minutes each. A second wave of five players played 15 minutes each, and a third wave of players played 11 minutes each.
- Savannah Feenstra drained 5-of-6 baskets and 2-of-4 free throws for a game-high 13 points.
- Olivia Voskuil netted 11 points.
- Hannah Smith added 10 points.
- Voskuil and Claire Baguley each had five rebounds.
- Olivet begins the second half of its MIAA schedule Saturday when it hosts Kalamazoo College at 1 p.m. The game is a part of a basketball doubleheader against the Hornets, as the Comet men will also play Kalamazoo after the women's game at approximately 3 p.m.
