UOlivet upended at Saint Mary’s, 76-67

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team was defeated by Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 76-67, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game tonight at the Angela Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first quarter, the Comets led by six points, 10-4. The Belles responded with a 14-0 run for an 18-10 lead. Olivet scored the last two points of the quarter to trail by five points, 18-13, to begin the second quarter.
- The Comets opened the second period with an 8-2 run to take a 21-20 lead at the 7:28 mark. Saint Mary's responded with 15 straight points for a 14-point advantage, 35-21. Olivet closed the gap to 12 points before the Belles scored the final four points of the quarter to hold a 40-24 lead at halftime.
- The closest the Comets got in the third quarter was 13 points. In the fourth quarter, the Belles stretched their lead to as many as 20 points, 71-51, with 4:19 left in the game. Olivet finished the game with a 16-5 run.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Kinsley Hatfield scored a game- and career-high 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc.
- Freshman Ava Lord added 11 points.
- Junior Kaylee Bush contributed 10 points.
- Freshman Madelyn Burdis pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

- Olivet heads to the west side of the state on Saturday to play Hope College at 3 p.m.
