UOlivet comes up short at Wheaton, 67-48

WHEATON, Ill. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team was on the losing end of a 67-48 final score to Wheaton (Ill.) College this evening at King Arena.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first quarter, the Comets built a six-point lead, 14-8, at the 4:06 mark. The Thunder scored the final five points of the quarter to trail by a single point, 14-13, to begin the second period.
• Wheaton scored nine of the first 14 points of the second quarter to take a 26-21 lead. Freshman Ava Lord drained a three-pointer to make the score 26-24 at halftime. In the second half, the Thunder outscored Comets, 41-24, including 20-9 in the third quarter.

FOR THE COMETS

• Senior Kinsley Hatfield led Olivet with 15 points and seven rebounds.
• Freshman Madelyn Burdis finished with 10 points, three assists and four steals.
• Lord tallied eight points and seven rebounds.

• Olivet resumes conference play on Saturday when it travels to play Kalamazoo College at 1 p.m.
