OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team suffered a 61-51 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College this afternoon on Hathaway Court and inside the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first seven minutes of the game were back-and-forth, featuring two lead changes and three tied scores. Following a 9-9 deadlock at the 3:11 mark, the Comets ended the quarter with an 8-1 run to take a seven-point lead.
- Olivet increased its lead to nine points twice in the second quarter. After the second time at 23-14 with 5:41 left until halftime, the Hornets used a 7-0 run to trim their deficit down to two points. The Comets doubled their lead before Kalamazoo split two free throws in the final seconds of the quarter to make the score 26-23 at the break.
- In the third quarter, Olivet stretched their advantage to as many as eight points, 40-32, with 4:06 remaining. The Hornets outscored the Comets, 11-2, over the final four minutes to take a 43-42 lead at the start the final quarter. Olivet did not get any closer for the rest of the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Ava Lord paced Olivet with 13 points and three assists.
- Junior Kaylee Bush joined her in double figures with 11 points.
- Freshman Madelyn Burdis pulled down 10 defensive rebounds.
- Bush and Lord tallied seven and six rebounds, respectively.
