UOlivet suffers loss at Alma, 72-55

ALMA, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Alma College, 72-55, this evening at Art Smith Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Scots built an early 8-4 lead. The Comets then went on a 10-2 run to take their first lead, 14-10, at the 4:02 mark of the opening quarter. Olivet held onto the lead until Alma scored the final five points of the quarter to seize a 21-18 advantage to begin the second quarter.
- The Comets scored the first seven points of the second period for a 25-21 lead. The Scots responded with an 11-2 run over a three and one-half minute span for five-point lead, 32-27. Olivet trailed by three points before an Alma basket made the score 36-31 at halftime.
- The Scots outscored the Comets 29-13 in the third quarter to pull away and lead 65-44 to start the final quarter. There was not much scoring in the fourth quarter, as the teams combined for 18 points – 11 for Olivet and seven for Alma.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Ava Lord posted career-highs in points (19) and rebounds (seven) to lead Olivet.
- Senior Kinsley Hatfield finished with 12 points.
- Junior Kaylee Bush added 11 points.
