UOlivet upended at home by Albion, 70-59

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team came up short against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 70-59, today at the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Britons led 37-18 at halftime. In the third quarter, the Comets trimmed their deficit down to eight points, 43-35, at the 4:31 mark. Albion responded with a 10-4 run to stretch its lead to 14 points to begin the fourth quarter. Olivet continued to make shots in the final quarter and trailed by only six points twice – 61-55 with 2:42 left and 65-59 with 1:29 left in the game. Albion sealed its win by making 5-of-6 free throws in the final 48 seconds.

FOR THE COMETS

• Freshman Reese Gohsman led the Comets with 15 points and six rebounds.
• Senior Kinsley Hatfield scored 13 points, including 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arc.
• Freshman Ava Lord netted 12 points and dished out four assists.
