Women’s golf team is second at MIAA Jamboree #1

The Olivet College women's golf team began Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play today with a second-place finish at the MIAA Jamboree #1. Calvin College hosted the jamboree at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Club in Grand Rapids.

The Comets tallied a team score of 349 strokes to finish behind Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, who had a 332. Hope College was third at 352.

Freshman Trisha McKim (DeWitt) had an 82 to lead Olivet. Sophomore Jennifer Lambarth (Saline) and freshman Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) each carded an 87. Senior Katie Edick (Charlotte) was next at 93, followed by junior Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union) at 98.

The Comets return to action this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17, when they host the Olivet College Invitational at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
