Women's golf team places seventh at IWU Spring Fling
The Olivet College women’s golf team placed seventh of 14 schools at the two-day Illinois Wesleyan University Spring Fling, which was played at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.

After carding a 344 team score yesterday, the Comets lowered their team score by seven strokes for a 337 today and a two-round total of 681 strokes. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College was the team champion at 646 strokes, followed by University of Wisc.-Stevens Point, 654; University of Wisc.-Eau Claire, 654; Illinois Wesleyan, 664; William Woods (Mo.) University, 676; and St. Ambrose (Iowa) University, 677.
Leading the way for Olivet was sophomore Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland), who had two-day total of 165 strokes (82-83). Freshman Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) finished with a 168 (86-82). Senior Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was next at 172 (86-86), followed by senior Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union) at 176 (90-86) and sophomore Trisha McKim (DeWitt) with a 185 (96-85). Freshman Katie Misko (Alma) played as an individual scorer and had a 175 (91-85).
The Comets are back in action this week when host the the first two rounds of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Playoffs. Action gets under way Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 at The Medalist Golf Course in Marshall. The third round will be played Thursday, April 24, at Tri-State's Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
