In today's final round, Olivet had a 325 team. In the final standings, the Comets were only eight strokes behind 10th-place Wartburg (Iowa) College, who was playing on their home course, nine strokes behind ninth-place Allegheny (Pa.) College and 10 strokes behind eighth-place Williams (Mass.) College. Methodist (N.C.) University captured its 11th straight national championship with a four-round total of 1,219 strokes.
Olivet was led by junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt), who tied the individual school-record for 18 holes with a two-over-par 74. Beginning her round on the front nine, she birdied the fifth hole and settled for bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes for a two-over 37. On the back nine, McKim sandwiched a birdie on hole No. 14 with bogeys on hole Nos. 12 and 16 for another two-over 37.
Sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) finished with an 83. Junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) and freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) each had an 84. Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) ended her collegiate career with an 85.
Overall, the Comets were led by McKim with a 321 (82-84-81-74) to tie for 33rd-place in the player standings (out of 111 golfers). Sanders was next at 328 (87-80-76-85) and Pipkin at 328 (82-85-77-83), followed by Rimmel at 329 (82-84-81-83) and Conrad at 334 (84-81-85-84).

The Olivet College women's golf team remains in 11th-place after the third day of the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships at the Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa. The fourth and final round of the championships is tomorrow.
After shooting a 324 team score in Wednesday's second round, the Comets lowered their team score by nine strokes to a 315 in today's third round for a three-round total of 973 strokes. The 315 ties for the second-best 18-hole team score in school history. Olivet now trails 10th-place Williams (Mass.) College by five strokes. Ten-time Defending national champion Methodist (N.C.) University leads the 20-team field with a two-round total of 915 strokes.
Today, the Comets were led by senior Amanda Sanders (Concord), who shot a four-over-par 76. She was one-over on the back nine and her round included a birdie on first, ninth and 14th holes. Following her was junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland), who finished with a 77. She had birdies on hole Nos. 10 and 15.
Junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) and sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) each needed 81 strokes to complete their round. McKim had a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine. After beginning the day with an eight-over-par 44 on the front nine, Rimmel bounced back with a one-over-par 37 on the back nine. Freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) finished with an 83.
After three rounds, Sanders leads the Comets with a 243 (87-80-76). Pipkin is a stroke behind at 244 (82-85-77), followed by Rimmel at 246 (82-84-81), McKim at 247 (82-84-81) and Conrad at 250 (84-81-85).
The fourth and final round begins tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. CT. The Comets will begin to tee off at 8:20 a.m. CT, and continue in 10-minute intervals.

After shooting a 334 team score in Tuesday's first round, the Comets posted a 324 team score in today's second round for a two-round total of 658 strokes. Olivet, ranked No. 11 in the latest golfstat.com rankings, trails 10th-place Williams (Mass.) College by nine strokes. Middlebury (Vt.) College is seven strokes behind the Comets. Defending national champion Methodist (N.C.) University leads the 20-team field with a two-round total of 616 strokes.
Today, the Comets' top three golfers were all within one stroke of each other. Sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) led the way with a 79, followed by senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) at 80 and freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) at 81. On the par 72 layout, Rimmel had two double bogeys and seven pars on the front nine and three bogeys and six pars on the back nine. Sanders had a birdie on hole No. 14 to go along with nine pars, seven bogeys and one double bogey. Conrad was the most consistent Olivet golfer, as she had nine pars and nine bogeys.
Junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) finished with an 84. She bogeyed 10 holes, had six pars and one double bogey. Junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) was one stroke behind McKim with an 85. She recorded seven pars, nine bogeys and two double bogeys.
After the first two rounds, Conrad and Rimmel each have a total of 165 strokes. McKim is third with a 166, followed by Pipkin and Sanders each with a 167.
The third round begins tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. CT. The Comets will begin to tee off at 8:20 a.m. CT, and continue in 10-minute intervals.

Following them were freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) with an 84 and sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) with an 86. Conrad had a birdie on hole No. 1, while Rimmel was of four golfers to birdie hole No. 2. Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord), who recorded a birdie on hole No. 9, needed 87 strokes to complete her round.
The Comets will tee off for tomorrow's second round in 10-minute intervals, beginning at 12:50 p.m. CT.
