After carding a 330 team in Saturday's first round, the Comets lowered their score by three strokes today for a two-round total of 657 strokes. Southern Indiana University was first at 619 (310-309); followed by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, 638 (322-316); Wisc.-Stevens Point, 643 (321-322); St. Ambrose University, 651 (324-327); and the host Titans, 653 (328-325).
In today's round, juniors Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) and Trisha McKim (DeWitt) each posted a 79. Pipkin's two-day total was 161, and McKim was a stroke behind at 162. After shooting a 79 in yesterday's first round, senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) had an 87 today for 166 total strokes. The rest of the Olivet scores were sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca), 171 (86-85) and freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), 172 (88-84). Freshman Abby Wheeler (Grayling) played as an individual scorer and shot a 172 (87-85).
Olivet will host its own invitational next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22 at the Marshall Country Club.
