The Olivet College women’s golf team placed second of seven schools at the Trine (Ind.) University Invitational today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola.

The Comets posted a 321 team score, seven strokes off the pace of tournament champion Bethel (Ind.) College. Fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) member Hope College had a 338 team score, while the host Thunder finished with a 350 team score.
Junior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) led Olivet with a 77. Sophomore Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) carded an 80. Senior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) tallied an 81. Junior Katie Misko (Alma) was next with an 83. Freshman Lauren Campbell (Fenton) recorded an 84.
Playing as individual scorers, sophomore Abby Wheeler (Grayling) had an 85 and senior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) had a 91.
The Comets return to Zollner tomorrow for the second MIAA jamboree. A 1 p.m. shot gun start gets the action under way.
