Women’s golf team is runner-up at 2009 MIAA Championships
The Olivet College women’s golf team was the runner-up today at the 2009 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships at the Bedford Valley Country Club. The Comets finish in second-place in the final seasonal standings, and placed four golfers on the 2009 All-MIAA teams.

In today's round, Olivet's 342 team score was 13 strokes behind league champion Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. Hope was third at 344, followed by Trine, 368; Calvin, 386; Alma, 390; Adrian, 396; Kalamazoo, 400; and Albion, 402.
Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) led the Comets with an 83 to tie for fourth-place in the player standings. Sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) posted an 85. With their finishes, Campbell and Conrad were named to the all-tournament team. Senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) was next at 86, followed by junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) at 88.
Conrad and Rimmel earned first-team All-MIAA honors for the third consecutive year. Campbell is a second-team All-MIAA selection for the second straight year, while Wheeler earned second-team All-MIAA honors for the first time in her career.
