Three Olivet women’s golfers named to NGCA All-American Scholar Team
Three Olivet College women’s golfers -- Lauren Campbell (Fenton), Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) and Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Three Olivet College women's golfers -- Lauren Campbell (Fenton), Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) and Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) have been named to the 2011-12 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team. Campbell was a senior captain on the team, while Jones and Stark will be juniors on the 2012-13 team. Campbell is the fourth Olivet women's golfer in school history to earn the honor four consecutive years, while Jones is earning the honor for the second time.
The criteria for selection is a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and the student-athlete must have competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
Campbell was a biology with pre-medicine concentration major. Jone is a special eduction major, and Stark is majoring in sports and recreation management. The trio helped the Comets win the 2011 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship. Campbell was the MIAA's Most Valuable golfer and recipient of the MIAA Sportsmanship award. Campbell and Jones both earned first-team All-MIAA honors.
