OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Casey Lamp has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golfer of the Week.

Lamp earned medalist honors, as the Comets won its own invitational Sept. 5-6 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. After carding a 79 in Friday's first round, she lowered her score by three strokes with a 76 in Saturday's second round.

With the first-place finish, Olivet beat 12 other schools, including five MIAA rivals. Overall in their first two competitions of the season, the Comets have finished ahead of seven league schools.

Olivet is off this weekend and will be back in action Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 20-21, when it participates in the DePauw (Ind.) University Small College Classic. The tournament will be played at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Ind.
