Olivet College senior Casey Lamp has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week.

FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Casey Lamp has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week.

Lamp earned medalist honors with a 79 at the season-opening Trine (Ind.) University Kick-Off Classic Aug. 28 at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana. Her scored helped the Comets finish in second-place.

Lamp followed that performance with an eighth-place finish at the 2015 O.C. Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament Sept. 5-6 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. She posted a two-round score of 162 strokes, including a tournament-tying best 75 in the second round.

Lamp and the Comets return to action this Friday and Saturday when it hosts the Kyle Campbell Classic at The Medalist. The tournament has a 2 p.m. shotgun start on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
