Women’s golf team opens season with second-place finish at Trine Invitational
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women’s golf team kicked-off its 2021-22 season with a second-place finish at the Trine University Invitational today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women's golf team kicked-off its 2021-22 season with a second-place finish at the Trine University Invitational today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

Par / Yardage: 72 / 5,963 yards
- The Comets posted a 349 team score.
- The host Thunder led the six-team field with a 340 team score.
- Olivet also fielded a "B" team which placed fourth with a 389 team score.
- Maire Sullivan from Trine was the individual medalist with an 81.
- Sophomore Rayna Honsowitz had Olivet's low score with an 83 to place second in the player standings.
- Senior Rachel Webb was two strokes behind with an 85 to finish third in the player standings. She led the tournament in par 5 scoring at even. Webb and Rayna Honsowitz both made nine pars to top all golfers.
- The rest of the Comets' "A" lineup was each separated by one stroke. Freshman Rylee Honsowitz had a 90, followed by senior Logan McLane at 91, and junior Aynslee Myer at 92.
- Sophomore Jenna Otten led the "B" team with an 86 to tie for fourth-place in the player standings. She and Sullivan posted matching +6 scores on the par 4s.
- Freshman Kennedy Ellis carded an 89 in her collegiate debut to share ninth-place in the player standings. She was second in par 3 scoring at +1.

- Olivet is off until next Saturday and Sunday, September 4-5, when it participates in the Denison University Lynn Schweizer Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is at the Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio.
