Wrestling Team Defeats Lawrence (Wisc.) and Lakeland (Wisc.) at the Lawrence Duals
The Olivet College wrestling team wrestling team defeated Lawrence University of Wisc., 25-20 and Lakeland College of Wisc., 42-6, on Friday night.
APPLETON, WISC. -- The Olivet College wrestling team wrestling team defeated Lawrence University of Wisc., 25-20 and Lakeland College of Wisc., 42-6, on Friday night. With the wins, the Fighting Comets have a 6-1 overall record. Today, Olivet is participating in the Lawrence University Tournament.
Leading the way for the Comets were senior 149-pounder Chris Dunham (Nashville/ Maple Valley High School), freshman 184-pounder Jeff Wright (Rock/ Escanaba High School) and freshman 197-pounder Justin Torres (Holly High School). Each wrestler won both of his matches.
Dunham defeated Aaron Guiger from Lawrence, 9-3 and won his other match by forfeit. Wright beat Adam Nickel from LU, 6-4 and also won by medical default. Torres won by forfeit and a 10-0 major decision against his LU opponent.
