The wrestling team had a 2-2 record today at the annual Wabash (Ind.) College Monon Bell Classic. With the split, Olivet’s overall record in dual meets is 9-3.

The Fighting Comets began the day with losses to Lincoln (Ill.) College, 22-14, and Millikin (Ill.) University, 25-6. Olivet bounced back at the end of the day with wins over University of Indianapolis (Ind.), 39-10, and Manchester (Ind.) College, 27-12.
Leading the way for the Olivet was junior 165-pounder Mike Andrews (Swartz Creek), who had a 4-0 record. His wins were a pin 4:34 along with 6-2, 5-0 and 7-2 decisions.
Senior 197-pounder Ahmad Zeaiter (Kalamazoo/Portage Northern) picked-up three wins while junior 141-pounder Shawn Parker (Inkster/John Glenn) and senior 174-pounder Todd Miller (Casnovia/Kent City) had two wins apiece. A noteworthy win was by junior 184-pounder Ryan Newberry (South Haven), who defeated Paul Sorenson from Manchester, 7-2.
The Comets will next compete Feb. 5 at the 20th annual John Summa Memorial Invitational hosted by Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) College. Action begins Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
