Seven wrestlers garner NWCA Scholar All-American status

MANHEIM, Pa. – Seven Olivet College wrestlers have earned National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American status. They are sophomore Dylan Briggs, senior Tyler Grimsley, freshman Liam Kinjorski, sophomore Cameron Mahlich, and freshmen Owen Miller, Hunter Murphy and Reese Wallis.

The seven wrestlers are among 261 individuals representing 83 institutions on the list of honorees. To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must have a 3.20 or higher GPA and meet one of three criteria: qualify for the NCAA Championships, place in top six at the NCAA qualifier, or win more than 66 percent of matches and wrestle in 50 percent of scheduled dates.

The seven honorees for Olivet matches the 2013-14 season for the most honorees in one season. Since the inception of the NWCA Scholar All-American award in 1984, the Comets have had 68 student-athletes earn 111 total awards.
