ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College wrestling team won the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship in dominating fashion. The Comets defeated Alma, 35-9; Adrian College, 33-9; and Trine (Ind.) University, 37-9. Olivet won 23-of-30 bouts, and scored bonus points in 17 of the victories.
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College wrestling team hosted a non-conference triangular inside the Cutler Event Center in Olivet. The Comets fell to Augsburg (Minn.) University, 30-12. All of the remaining matches during the event were exhibitions against the Auggies and Alma College.
FREELAND, Mich. – Seven Olivet College wrestlers have been named to the 2021 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team. The honorees are senior Cameron Mahlich, junior Reese Wallis, freshman Dylan Phelps, sophomore Hunter Murphy, sophomore Owen Guilford, senior Trevor Piggott and sophomore Dominick Wilson.
OLIVET, Mich. – Seven Olivet College wrestlers won their respective weight class at the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Individual Championships, hosted by the Comets today inside the Cutler Event Center. In addition, four more Olivet wrestlers were finalists and finished second in their weight class. The 11 total finalists and seven champions were the most for one MIAA school. The seven champions will represent Olivet on the 2021 All-MIAA teams.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Olivet College wrestling team posted a 16-10 overall record, including an 8-2 mark by the varsity wrestlers, in a round-robin tournament this afternoon at Defiance (Ohio) College and inside the Karl H. Weaner Center in Defiance, Ohio. Highlighting the action was sophomore Donovan King breaking the school record with a five-second pin.
MOUNT PLESANT, Mich. – In its first competition in 310 days, the Olivet College wrestling team fell to Central Michigan University, 44-0, this afternoon at McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant.
