Five Olivet wrestlers finish in the top 6 at Albion Invitational

ALBION, Mich. – Five members of The University of Olivet wrestling team placed in the top six at the Albion College Invitational. Among the 18 participating schools, the Comets totaled the most pins with 22 and combined most pins/technical falls with 31.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- At 133 pounds, senior Emmett Kettel had a 4-1 record to finish third. He won his first two matches, 20-3 and 17-9, before losing the semifinal match 19-5. He bounced back to pin his last two opponents, including a 4:28 fall over Cade Odrobina from Albion in the third-place match.
- At 197 pounds, freshman Jack Ward lost his first match but rebounded to win his next five matches to place third. Of the five wins, three were pins (one in the first period and the other two in the second period).
- At 285 pounds, sophomore Mason Knight also had a 5-1 record for a fifth-place performance. He began his day with three pins. Knight lost his semifinal match before winning 4-1 and 13-3 in the consolation bracket.
- Finishing in fifth-place was sophomore Josh Graybeal at 149 pounds. He started his day with a pin and eked out a 9-8 decision victory. Graybeal lost his quarterfinal match before recording Olivet's fastest pin of the day at 20 seconds. He was pinned in the consolation bracket semifinal but won the fifth-place match, 15-11 over Xavier Carpenter from Albion.
- At 141 pounds, senior Stuart Donlan placed sixth with a 3-3 record. His wins were a 21-6 technical fall, 16-2 major decision and first-period pin at 2:03.
