ALMA, Mich. – The University of Olivet wrestling team scored bonus points in nine bouts to post an outstanding 51-0 shutout win over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College tonight inside the Art Smith Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olivet started the match with two major decision wins, followed by a technical fall, pin and technical fall to take a 24-0 lead. The Comets won a minor decision at 165 pounds. Olivet ended the match with four straight first-period pins.
FOR THE COMETS
- At 125 pounds, senior Benyamin Kamali won a 12-3 decision.
- At 133 pounds, senior Robert Davids claimed a 15-3 decision.
- At 141 pounds, senior Dylan Phelps recorded an 18-3 technical fall.
- At 149 pounds, senior Tyler Herrema earned a pin 1:19 into the second period.
- At 157 pounds, senior Ramiro Guerrero shutout his opponent, 15-0.
- At 165 pounds, sophomore Juwan Vines hung on for an 8-7 win.
- At 174 pounds, senior Jay Shaull had the quickest pin of the night at 39 seconds.
- At 184 pounds, junior Gideon Loewen pinned his man with 41 seconds remaining in the first period.
- At 197 pounds, senior Kody Krupp posted his pin at 1:14.
- At 285 pounds, senior Boe Eckman won by fall with 10 seconds left in the opening period.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Tonight's match was the 28th all-time meeting between the Scots and Comets on the wrestling match.
- Olivet now leads the series 20-8 and has won nine straight matches.
- The last time the Comets shutout Alma was February 7, 2012 – a 49-0 win.
- Combined with a 43-0 shutout win over Trine (Ind.) on January 16, Olivet shutout two MIAA opponents in the same season for the first time.
