UOlivet wrestles at Trine Invitational

ANGOLA, Ind. – The University of Olivet wrestling team posted five podium finishes (top six) at the 2025 Trine (Ind.) University Invitational.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Mason Knight finished fourth in the 285-pound bracket. After winning his first two matches, he lost in the semifinals. He bounced back to win his first consolation bracket match before ending the day with a tough 4-1 loss in the third-place match.
- Junior Kyan Larson placed fifth at 165 pounds. He won his first three matches before losing 8-2 in the semifinals. He then lost his first consolation bracket match but rebounded to win 6-2 in the fifth-place match.
- Also, at 285 pounds, junior Shane Edwards was fifth. He lost his first match 2-1 but bounced back with four consecutive wins, including two first-period pins. Edwards then fell 4-1 to Knight before getting the no-contest win in the fifth-place match.
- Senior Darren McLeod was sixth at 157 pounds. He earned a 16-1 tech fall win in the first round and lost 13-4 in the second round. He then won four straight matches in the consolation bracket and was unable to wrestle any more matches due to the six-match daily limit.
- Freshman Steven Andreone finished sixth at 197 pounds. He began the day with two wins before dropping his next three matches.
